BRIAN WALTERS SC

Brian is a prominent Melbourne barrister with a wide corporate practice. In speaking, writing, and litigation, he is known for his advocacy for public interest causes. He is a former president of Liberty Victoria and spokesperson for Free Speech Victoria.

Brian has a passion for the environment and the importance of place. A keen bushwalker, Brian co-founded “Wild” – Australia’s wilderness adventure magazine, a vibrant small business with which he is still involved.

He has written for a range of newspapers and journals, and is the author of “Slapping on the Writs: Defamation, Developers and Community Activism”.

Fascinated by our legacy of story and history, Brian has written several screenplays, of which Eidolon Creative has made “Jumping Jack” and “Union Jack”.
